Beer Gardens

A good beer garden takes a lot of beating and nothing shouts summer like a beer garden and some sunny weather. They are enjoyable places to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and with Scotlands reputation for rain, when it is sunny in Scotland they are enjoyed to the max.

The Pear Tree is famous with most students in Edinburgh and is near George Square which is a hub of the Edinburgh Festival and with so many students nearby, its not too expensive. The Cumberland Bar although a bit of an older clientele has a brilliant beer garden with weeping willow, and is a welcome sanctuary in the centre of Edinburgh.

In Glasgow there is a bar called Cottier which is in a converted church and is an incredibly pretty setting to enjoy a pint. Also worth checking out is Barras Art and Design Centre which is an quirky venue and makes for a great day out.
