Scotland is the go to location for anyone who enjoys skiing and snowboarding in the UK. The main ski area is Aviemore although there is an all weather slope just outside Edinburgh which is easier to get to but generally has less snow. Aviemore is in the Cairngorms and is a stunning part of Scotland.
The Cairngorms are very mountainous and as a result it offers some of the more challenging slopes in the UK. When planning to go up there, one of the best forecasts for snow conditions is The Met Office and it is well worth waiting for a snow fall before heading there.
At Hillend in Edinburgh they have an all weather slope and this is very convenient but is a different experience from being on snow. There is also an indoor snow centre called Snow Factor in Glasgow which is good for learning to ski and again is easier to get to than Aviemore.
